The Steltman Chair was Gerrit Rietveld's final design, commissioned in 1963 by the jeweler ‘Steltman Juwelier’ in The Hague. There were left-arm and right-arm versions. The use of asymmetric open shapes reconnects with his early work of the nineteen-twenties.
